SmartCap is looking for a lead to a science accelerator

SmartCap is organizing a public tender to find a lead to a science accelerator with the aim to stimulate innovation through a programme designed to guide participants and their ideas through developing protoypes and help commercialize an investable product in the fields of green technology and enhancement of natural resources.

“The launch of the research accelerator supports Estonia’s ambition and potential to join the leaders in global growth platforms for green technologies,” said Mari Vavulski, Member of the Management Board of SmartCap. The accelerator is targeted at resource enhancement – resource-efficient construction, bio-, climate- and environmental technologies and the enrichment of mineral resources.

“We are expecting professionals in their field to participate in the tender, who would be ready to offer support to entrepreneurs with their product and business development and market entry,” added Vavulski. “The aim of the accelerator is to find ideas with strong business potential and to help them make a significant leap in prototype development, as well as to mentor their business plans.”

As a result of the program, a comprehensive accelerator concept will be created, which includes proof of concept services, market validation and business development services.

“A recent survey among entrepreneurs and investors commissioned by SmartCap confirmed that in addition to the availability of capital, entrepreneurs look for know-how and networking support to develop green technologies – from assembling teams to validating solutions,” said Vavulski and added that the accelerator should alleviate these bottlenecks.

The implementation of the accelerator will be financed with up to 700,000 euros.

Procurement documents and additional information are available here, incl. registration to the webinar on June 10.

The deadline for submission of applications is 4th of July 2022.
