SmartCap Green Fund Direct Investment Programme

The SmartCap Green Fund was established with financing from the European Union’s NextGenerationEU Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). The RRF funding period ended in June 2026, and the capital allocated for the Green Fund’s direct investments has been deployed in full, as planned. The fund has successfully fulfilled its strategic, financial and impact objectives.

The Green Fund will continue managing its existing portfolio and will no longer actively seek new investment opportunities.

The SmartCap Green Fund was created to accelerate Estonia’s transition towards a greener and more sustainable economy. As an instrument financed through the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility, the fund operates within a clearly defined regulatory and policy framework, including strict requirements regarding the investment period, capital deployment, and the achievement of agreed objectives and milestones.
